Trist Curless is a vocalist, arranger, producer, and recording engineer whose career has been rooted in harmony from the beginning. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he studied music education at the University of Northern Colorado before co-founding the acclaimed vocal group m-pact in 1995. As a member of the group, Trist performed around the world while also writing, arranging, and producing much of its music.

His work in vocal music has extended well beyond the stage. Trist has performed with Bobby McFerrin and worked as a recording engineer for artists and groups including Take 6, Pentatonix, and Straight No Chaser.

Trist first began performing with The Manhattan Transfer in 2013 while Tim Hauser was unable to tour. Following Tim’s passing in 2014, he became an official member of the group, bringing his rich bass voice, arranging experience, and deep love of vocal harmony to the next chapter of The Manhattan Transfer’s remarkable career.
